On Monday, May 8, APN sent an Action Alert asking you to weigh in on HR 4681, the so-called "Palestinian Anti-Terrorism Act of 2006," which had been scheduled for a vote today (May 9). You responded, generating messages to more than 300 Members of Congress in less than 12 hours. APN also circulated talking points to every Representative pointing out that this bill is "more about political grandstanding than about protecting Israeli or American interests."

This morning (May 9) APN received word that the HR 4681 would not be voted on today; rather the vote would be delayed in order to give the Judiciary and Financial Services Committees a chance to consider it.

This is a tremendous victory for American national security, for Israel, and for a sensible U.S. policy towards the Palestinians. It is also a tremendous opportunity. If you have not already done so, please contact your Representative and tell them that this bill should not be passed unless it is significantly revised.
