APN urges the Palestinians, Israel, and the international community to urgently act to stop the bloodshed and stabilize the situation.

APN urged President Bush to use his June 19 meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to articulate specific steps that the U.S. will undertake to help curtail the spiraling chaos in Gaza and to make clear that the White House supports peace talks between Israel and Syria.

The resolution reaffirms the Senate's commitment to a "true and lasting solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, based on the establishment of 2 states, the State of Israel and Palestine, living side by side in peace and security, with recognized borders."

Jewish Community Poll Highlights

June 4, 2007 Washington, D.C.-The Arab American Institute (AAI) and Americans for Peace Now (APN) today released the results of their joint survey of Arab Americans and Jewish Americans gauging support within both communities for Arab-Israeli peace. The survey was carried out by Zogby International. 501 Jewish Americans were polled from May 22- 23, 2007 while 501 Arab Americans were surveyed from May 22- 26, 2007. The margin of error for both samples is +/- 4.5%. ...
